“Act Locally, Think Globally” has been my mantra. I’m a grassroots organizer in small under-served and transitional communities working to address poverty, poor education, lack of adequate health care, environmental pollutants, and job scarcity. I was a neighborhood Captain in the Another Mother For Peace movement, facilitated Feminist Consciousness Raising groups, and conducted leadership seminars for local women wishing to become community leaders.
I am the past Chair of the Northwest Regional Coalition, www.northwestregionalcoalition.org President of Citizens For Picture Rocks www.citizensforpicturerocks.org , and a grant writer for community block development grants. I have served as a Commissioner on the Pima County/Tucson Women’s Commission www.pimatucsonwomen.org and created an activist boot camp for Code Pink CodePink.org. I have been a part of the Big and Little Sisters mentoring program and continue to work with children in many capacities.
